SACRED WOOD PALO SANTO

WHAT HAPPENED TO SANTO?
Palo Santo (bursera graveolens) is a wild tree native to the coast of South America. It means “sacred wood” or “wood of the saints” and is related to frankincense, myrrh, and copal. Once the tree dies, it takes several years for it to become suitable for incense production. This mystical tree is highly valued for its cleansing and healing properties.
Its scent is intense, warm and slightly sweet, and gives a feeling of comfort. It is also useful for repelling
insects. Its scent takes us to higher realms, raises our vibration, and is therefore extremely important in meditation.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Point the Palo Santo stick downward and light the tip so that the wood is well lit. Let the flame burn for a few seconds to a minute, then blow it out. The rich scent provides a sense of peace and inner clarity. Or, you can simply use it as a pleasant fragrance for your living space .
When finished, place the stick in a metal, ceramic, or glass container, it will soon extinguish itself. One stick can be used multiple times.
