The Swiss pine (Pinus cembra) is known in the Alps for its healing properties, but there are no significant stories, legends or myths about its message. The Siberian stone pine (Pinus siberica) is often used by Siberian shamans for its energy and messages. The Siberian stone pine, also incorrectly called the Siberian cedar, differs from the Alpine Swiss pine only in its larger cones and three resin canals in the needles instead of two, so some botanists consider it a variety of Pinus cembra.

In Siberia, the Swiss pine is considered a tree of light energy, which helps to find natural order and promotes knowledge and development.
